Dr. Abdisalam Adam is a veteran educator, faith leader, and public intellectual with over three decades of service in Minnesota. As one of the first Somali-Americans to lead a public charter school in the state, he served as Executive Director of Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Civic Center and later became a central figure in shaping intercultural and interfaith understanding in the Twin Cities. Fluent in Somali, Arabic, and English, Dr. Adam is a sought-after speaker and advisor on issues of education, diversity, Islam in America, and civic engagement. His involvement in numerous boards, including the St. Paul Interfaith Network, has helped unify communities across ethnic and religious lines. Through his long tenure at St. Paul Public Schools and ongoing public service, Dr. Adam has mentored generations of youth and championed justice and dignity for marginalized populations.
